The Tempest is on stage now at Sewell Barn Theatre in Norwich until 26^th October.

The Tempest is Shakespeare’s late, great masterpiece, as well as one of Shakespeare’s craziest play built on poetry, comedy and tender performance. It’s undeniable that magic, betrayal, revenge, and forgiveness provide the timeless themes of William Shakespeare’s The Tempest.

Sewell Barn Theatre will celebrate its 40th anniversary in 2020 as well as its 300th production. The Tempest now is available at Sewell Barn Theatre until 26^th October. Directed by Clare Williamson who has chosen a barren, post-industrial landscape for The Tempest’s island setting, stage set designed and built by Phil Williamson, and stage manager is Anne Giles. The auditorium features sloping seats on three sides of the open performance space helps to attract the audience deeply to the show. The audience left great comments and have high recommendation on this performance.

Sewell Barn Theatre is a small community theatre built on a unique barn-conversion space, only can seat 100 people at once. The reason why Sewell Barn Theatre originally adopted this style of house was to bring together a group of enthusiastic young people and some of the most experienced amateur actors, directors and theatre technicians in the city. The main feature of this theatre is that it run entirely by volunteers and welcome help in all areas of their work.
